Howard Card Safety Award Winners

The safety award is named after Howard Card, a 23-year veteran of the New Jersey Highway Patrol. Mr. Card was responsible for the regulatory oversight of the propane industry, including enforcement of safety codes. The award was established in his Howard Card Safety Award Winnershonor after his death in May, 1993. His wife, Doris, and daughter, Donna, accepted the first award on his behalf.

Baier, Chief, Bureau of Code Services, NJ DCA Division of Codes & Standards received the award from Gerard C. Stocker for “longstanding work with the NJ propane industry in the areas of propane safety, education and regulatory compliance.” Theodore C. Lemoff, PE, Principal Gasses Engineer, NFPA received the award from Robert B. Nicholson, III for “meritorious contributions towards the enhancement of safety and education in the propane industry and the United States of America."
