Letter
from the President
Dear Members and visitors to the NJPGA website,
Thank you for visiting the website of the New Jersey Propane Gas Association
(NJPGA) and the New Jersey Propane Education and Research Foundation
(NJ PERF).
Having served previously as Vice President of the NJPGA Board of Directors
and as Chairman of the Legislative/Public Affairs Committee, it is now
my honor to serve the members of our industry association as President.
I appreciate the opportunity to serve, and I look forward to meeting
the challenges ahead with your assistance.
Our Association has been actively addressing many industry concerns,
including New Jersey One-Call, Training obligations, Hours of Service
changes, the propane supply network challenges and proposed Best Practices.
We have made great strides as an industry to accomplish our goals and
objectives with New Jersey One-Call and the Board of Public Utilities,
resulting in savings to the NJ propane industry of about $1.5 million
per year.
The NJPGA cannot act alone in solving many of our challenges. Over the
years, our state association has always had a close working relationship
with the National Propane Gas Association, and we call upon the National
Association and their talented staff to work hand-in-hand with us on
our major issues. We were privileged to have Philip Squair, NPGA’s
Vice President, Regulatory & Technical Services at our annual meeting
to provide information on the direction of the NPGA and our industry.
Members are encouraged to participate on any of our standing committees
or special task forces. Any concerns affecting your LP Gas business or
the industry should be forwarded to my attention or to Judy Paul at NJPGA
headquarters.
In addition to utilizing the information available from this website,
please visit the National Propane Gas Association website at www.npga.org and the Propane Exceptional Energy website at www.usepropane.com.
I would like to thank the members of our Association for their vote of
confidence in my attempt to serve the interests of the propane industry
in New Jersey. I will require your cooperation, assistance and involvement
to successfully address our challenges.
Sincerely,
Michael G. Merrill
